Lance Millar believes that investors often look only in one direction — backward — instead of forward, when making financial decisions. Although markets will react differently to outside influences (economic indicators, earnings reports, geopolitical events, etc.), investors are more likely to meet and exceed their goals when they rely on active management to help ensure their portfolios are properly positioned.

An experienced investment industry professional, prior to his association with Banyan, Lance has held financial advisory positions with a Florida-based investment adviser acquired by Banyan in 2011, with the Wealth Management division of UBS and with Wachovia Securities. Prior to these roles, Lance worked for 10 years in the “paratransit” industry, where he helped provide transportation services to the disabled and elderly. This earlier career and the managerial, professional and interpersonal skills he developed are valuable tools Lance relies on in his work with Banyan clients.

Lance Millar received a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of California, Davis and holds the Series 66 license.
